The Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution sits on 78 acres of land and opened in 1988. The mixed custody facility accommodates over 1,600 close, minimum, and medium custody male inmates. Allen-Oakwood inmates have access to a variety of programs designed to increase their chance of success upon release, such as community service, academic courses, vocational training, and apprenticeships.
