As one of the largest employers in the Bowling Green area, the General Motors Corvette Assembly Plant is the only plant to build the Chevrolet Corvette. Since its opening in 1981, it has produced over 1.1 million Corvettes, including the 8th generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The 1.7 million square feet facility handcrafts high-performance and low-volume engines within its Performance Build Center.
