LEED AP BD+C RENEWAL

March 2018 – Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (KRSM) Senior Engineer, LEED AP BD+C, GRP Ed Calvert recently renewed his LEED AP BD+C credentials.

Calvert initially passed the certification process four years ago. Over the past two years, he had to report at least 30 continuing educations hours, 6 of which had to be LEED-specific topics for building design and construction. Altogether, Calvert nearly doubled the required hours and reported a total of 56.5 hours, including 27.5 hours that were classified as LEED-specific.

“The USGBC requires continuing education and re-certification of credentials every 2 years because the technology, materials, installation techniques, and building sciences are constantly being updated. It is important to stay up to date on the latest technology in order to remain at the forefront of our field. Education is a key factor in sustainability, and sustainability plays a large role in the future of KRSM,” said Calvert.
