Custom fabrication projects are first nature for Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal’s sheet metal shop. Our innate attention to detail and the ability to solve construction-related problems in the design (or modification of existing details) ensures the best possible fit and solution. Our customers are able to rely on outstanding turn-around times to meet the ever-changing conditions in the field. We have the resources to work with any variation of metal and strive to keep each project moving at an efficient pace required to complete the project on time and according to budget and specifications. By working together with the project management, estimating and engineering departments, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal’s comprehensive sheet metal shop strives to make sure that we provide our customers with exactly what their projects require.
Our capabilities include forming, rolling, welding (MIG, TIG, and Arc), finishing, shearing, deburring, laser cutting, bending, fitting, assembly, cutting, punching, contouring, and notching.
Metal soffit panels can be made from a variety of raw materials such as copper, zinc, stainless steel, aluminum, and either galvanized or galvalume steel. Metal composite or insulated metal materials can also be used. Most panels are factory-finished with a durable Kynar paint system and can be manufactured in a wide selection of profiles, shapes and designs.
Custom metal cornices can be made from a variety of raw materials such as copper, zinc, stainless steel, aluminum, and either galvanized or galvalume steel. Most cornices have ornate, curved profiles and materials are often factory-finished with a durable Kynar paint system. Natural metals typically feature either a mill finish or are pre-patina weathered.
Kalkreuth installs louvers from a wide selection of manufacturers and designs. Louvers allow for ventilation openings in the building while preventing moisture, birds and insects from entering into the building. Louvers typically have a painted finish.
Kalkreuth installs sunshades from a wide selection of manufacturers, designs, colors and finishes. Sunshades are highly ornate architectural features installed above windows to provide permanent physical shading from light.
Metal column covers are typically manufactured from either plate-thickness aluminum or metal-composite material with a factory painted finish. Column covers are highly architectural and are often made in round or oval shapes to conceal structural columns.
Insulated metal panels are often referred to as “foam panels” or “sandwich panels” with the panel material ranging in thickness from 2-6 inches. The metal “foam” panel material consists of a heavy-duty rigid insulation sandwiched between tow thin layers of either aluminum or steel. Foam panels are factory-finished with a durable Kynar paint system, and the panel joints are integral.
Insulated metal panels consist of rigid foam sandwiched between two sheets of coated steel or aluminum skins creating a vapor barrier and providing long-term thermal efficiency. They are frequently used not only for thermal efficiency, but for their ease of installation, structural integrity, and aesthetic appeal. They can be customized to a variety of styles and sizes depending on application and project specifications.
The exterior facades are resistant to abuse, moisture, insect, and rodent infiltration and are available in diverse color options. Insulated metal panels can be finished naturally, painted, or using applied options such as stone, wood grain, etching, or raised patterns. No matter what the project requires, insulated metal panels can be molded to fit any design.
Rainscreen systems are made from a variety of materials to provide a wide array of colors, textures, and finishes to a building façade. The key aspect of a rainscreen wall is that the exterior veneer or “cladding” stands off of the air/vapor barrier surface of the building structure. The cladding material sheds the majority of precipitation while the airspace behind allows moisture to drain through weep holes and evaporate from the wall surface.
Made from a combination of cellulose fiber, cements and pigments, fiber cement cladding can be formed into various shapes and sizes and offer a choice of colors. The cellulose material is often organic and therefore the recycled content is an advantage in green construction.
Made from clay, terra cotta tiles can be formed into various shapes and sizes. Terra cotta is a very long-lasting product with environmentally friendly properties. Most terra cotta systems are attached with concealed metal rails.
Metal composite panels are “sandwich panels” with the panel material ranging in thickness from 3mm to 8mm. The metal panel material consists of a heavy-duty polyethylene core sandwiched between two thin layers of either aluminum or zinc metal. Most composite panels are factory-finished with a durable Kynar paint system, and the material is “routed and returned” to form box shapes. Panels are held together with aluminum extrusion framing and a variety of joint types are available.
Metal Plate panels are typically constructed from mill-finish aluminum in thicknesses from .063” to .125” thick and are post-painted with Kynar paint finish. These panels are often attached with an extrusion framing system or with a simple faceting flange. Metal Plate Panels are typically used in high-traffic areas because of their resistance to damage.
Single-skin panels can be made from a variety of raw materials such as aluminum, steel, zinc, copper and stainless steel. Single-skin panels have a wide selection of profiles and finishes for the customer to choose from. Panels made from zinc or copper may have a natural finish while aluminum or steel may be painted. Single Skin Metal Panels are typically used when in applications when cost is a significant factor.
Metal tiles can be made from a variety of raw materials such as copper, zinc, stainless steel, aluminum, and either galvanized or galvalume steel. Tiles are typically fabricated from natural metals such as copper or zinc, though sometimes painted aluminum or steel is used.
