Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal has deep roots that go back over a century. It all started in 1920 with Kalkreuth Brothers, a family-run industrial roofing and metal fabrication business serving the hardworking communities along the Ohio River.
Fast forward to November 1984—that’s when the Kalkreuth you know today was born. John Kalkreuth and Jim Hurley took the reins, bringing a clear vision and a strong belief that with hard work, great people, and a dedication to doing things the right way, success would follow.
And it did. Over the years, the company has grown steadily, earning a spot as one of the largest and most respected roofing contractors in the country. But even as we’ve expanded and evolved, we’ve stayed true to the core values that got us here: integrity, quality, and commitment to our clients.

Pittsburgh’s Newest Roofing Company
Kalkreuth opens a sales office in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA. The Pittsburgh office continues to grow and adds a production team to the office.

Because we hold ourselves to a higher standard, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal became a captive insurance program North American Roofers Insurance (NARI) member. This organization shares our dedication to constantly developing safety practices and procedures. Kalkreuth adheres to strict performance guidelines for risk management and maintains a high-level commitment to safety. Our participation with NARI expands our internal safety functions, as NARI performs random job site inspections and holds mandatory annual safety director meetings. We want to be, and are, held to a higher standard.
