CAREER FAIRS ARE IN FULL SWING

It’s that time of year again! Various members of our team will be traveling near and far to career fairs over the next couple of months. These events allow us to meet the students, discuss potential internships and/or jobs and establish professional relationships! Not only do these events develop strong brand awareness among students, but among staff and other employers, as well.

FOREMAN SPOTLIGHT: ROBERT LUYSTER

This month’s featured foreman is Robert Luyster with East Coast. Bob has been with ECMS since May 6th, 2002, and his first project was Tangeman University in Cincinnati, Ohio. While working in the shop, he is bound to work on most active projects.

Bob has twenty-six years of total experience and twenty with ECMS alone. He noted a few of his most notable projects, including 130 Cedar Street (World Center Hotel, New York), Cincinnati International Airport, and Tangeman University.

“Everything is fluid. Schedule, coworkers, types of material worked with, delivery dates, anything, and everything could change on any given day. If you can’t deal with change, this is not the place for you.”

Bob lives in Adena, Ohio, with his wife Tina (of twenty-eight years), two kids, Tori (22) and Wyatt (16), and two dogs. His family is his biggest support system, and he could not do his job without them!

We are proud to have Bob as a part of the East Coast Metal Systems family and sincerely appreciate his continuous hard work and dedication these past twenty years!

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

At the beginning of August, Kalkreuth was named Roofing & Exteriors’ Week 6 Power Player! What makes us a Power Player? Our passion for Innovation and Growth, Technology, and Diversity. Check out the whole article at roofingexteriors.com!

KRSM was also named Roofers Coffee Shop’s R-Club Roofer of the Month for September 2022! Vice President David Hesse was featured in a podcast interview to discuss KRSM’s history, services, projects, and what makes this company unique! Alice asked, “What is something special that your company celebrates?” Dave said “Kalkreuth likes to celebrate our story, which is a good one, and our people. It’s really the people that make Kalkreuth a great company, our office and field staff, not just great employees, but great people to work with, great people to be associated with. We, not too long ago, started a more awards program where we are able to celebrate our people that have shown more, have gone above and beyond whether it’s leadership or mentorship, determination, teamwork, community involvement. We try to celebrate those folks with a more award at the end of the year.”

NATIONAL IT PROFESSIONALS DAY

September 20th was National IT Professionals Day, celebrating the heroes who keep our technology operating smoothly and reliably! This team goes above and beyond to manage servers, networks, applications, devices, etc., on a daily basis. Without Justin, Tom, Luke, and Carol, we would all be very lost!

FISHING TRIP

On September 19th, Brian Covington, Chris Lemmon, and Scott Hoops went on a networking fishing trip with Dewalt and Triangle Fastener. The guys may have struggled to make some catches, but they did see some salmon!

MUSIC UNDER THE STARS

On September 4th, Josh Wack, Kathleen Wack, Becky Hurley, and Jim Hurley attended the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra’s annual Music Under the Stars concert. Kalkreuth was happy to be the presenting sponsor and to have a part in providing an enjoyable evening of free entertainment! The concert celebrated The Beatles and one of their most influential albums, Abbey Road.

We are looking forward to next year!

FOREMAN SPOTLIGHT: YANCEY CLARK

This month’s featured foreman is Yancey Clark with KRSM’s West Virginia division. Yancey has been with Kalkreuth since 1992, his first project was Union Local High School, back when Kalkreuth did not have PMs! His most recent project was the OSU Dublin Wexner Medical Center RAF, which Brian Humphrey started and Yancey finished. Yancey is now working on the Royal Canin – Project Ace with project managers John Sberna and Chase Harvey.

Yancey has 30 years of experience in the sheet metal industry and has worked on several high-profile projects during his time with Kalkreuth. He noted a few of his most notable projects, including Fletcher Allen hospital in Burlington, Vermont, and Temple Tifereth in Cleveland, Ohio. Temple Tifereth is a unique project because KRSM installed 7,500 square feet of ISCOM SpA’s Riverclack standing seam roof system. The system was manufactured in and shipped from Pescantina, Italy, leaving the Temple as the only building with these panels in the United States.

“Working for Kalkreuth has been a very rewarding experience and has given me a good steady career for 30 years.”
Yancey lives in Fredericktown, Ohio, with his wife Kelly and has two kids, Jacob and Noah. Noah just so happens to be Yancey’s right-hand man in the field! His wife and kids are his biggest supporters and he couldn’t do his job without them!

We are so proud to have Yancey as part of the Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal family and sincerely appreciate his continuous hard work and dedication these past 30 years!
