KRSM FOREMEN RECEIVE CERTIFICATE OF MERIT FROM THE ROOFING ALLIANCE

Kalkreuth Roofing & Sheet Metal would like to congratulate Ben Roxby, WV Foreman; Bernie Poskey, PA Foreman; and Dustin Namack, WV Foreman on receiving their Certificate of Merit for the Roofing Alliance’s MVP Awards. All three foremen were nominated for their admirable leadership skills, as well as their commitment to safety and productivity on any given project.

We are grateful for the dedication that these three men and many other of our hardworking field employees have shown us throughout their time with KRSM. Without them, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal would not be what it is today.

KRSM CELEBRATES NATIONAL ENGINEERS WEEK

This year, National Engineers Week was celebrated February 21-27, and we have some of the very best engineers here at Kalkreuth!

The purpose of National Engineers Week is to call attention to the contributions to society that engineers make and it is also a time for engineers to emphasize the importance of learning math, science, and technical skills. Without their expertise, our company wouldn’t be where it is today. Thank you to our Engineering team for their continued hard work!

KRSM HELPS FEED THE COMMUNITY

On February 4th, a few of our Kalkreuth employees who are also part of the National Women in Roofing (NWiR) Wheeling Council, helped deliver donated items to Youth Services System (YSS) of Wheeling that were collected from a recent donation drive they organized. Shawnda Burgess and Stephanie Barry, both Project Administrators at KRSM, coordinated with Sunbelt Rentals to place these donation bins all over the Wheeling, WV and Pittsburgh, PA areas.

Boxes were placed in the lobby of Kalkreuth’s Headquarters and filled up exceptionally quick! Other boxes were placed in a few of the Sunbelt offices in PGH, Kalkreuth’s Warehouse, Sheet Metal Shop, and Residential office, as well as inside other various businesses throughout Wheeling.

In the photo above, you can see just how much food, clothing, and other items ended up being donated to YSS. By the time this photo was taken, they had already taken 2 carts of food inside!

Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this donation possible by contributing. Terra Crews, Special Events Coordinator at YYS was overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone in our communities coming together to make this happen!

KALKREUTH ROOFING & SHEET METAL FMI MEETING WITH SCOTT KIMPLAND

On January 15th, our Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal Project Management, Foremen, and Estimating teams in Ohio and Kentucky met at the Hyatt Cincinnati for an educational training with Scott Kimpland, Principal at FMI Corporation. FMI is the largest provider of management consulting, investment banking, and research to the engineering and construction industry. We’ve been working with Scott for almost 30 years now and he continues to educate, train, and enlighten our folks on things that are relevant to our industry and relatable to their jobs.

Then again, on January 29th, our Wheeling division PM’s and Estimators attended Scott’s workshop in Glessner Auditorium at the Oglebay Resort and Conference Center.

One great part about the Kalkreuth team is that we will never pass on the opportunity to learn something new. We strive to maintain a continuing education program in both skill-enhancement and industry innovations to stay ready to meet with our industry’s complex needs.

Pictured below in the top photo is Scott Kimpland speaking to our team at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, WV. Pictured bottom left in Cincinnati is Andre Philpot, KY Foreman; Matt Hudak, OH Project Manager; Chase Cupryk, KY Project Manager; Brian Blacker, OH Foreman doing a team building exercise. These groups really worked together and we are proud of the team work they displayed!

KRSM FREDERICK OFFICE HOLDS FOOD DRIVE AND FUNDRAISER FOR FREDERICK HOSPITAL

Our team in Maryland held another food drive this year. They collected food and donated it to the Frederick Rescue Mission two days before the holiday. Thanks to them, someone, somewhere got to enjoy a meal this holiday season that they otherwise may not have had!

Last month, our MD team also held a fundraiser for the employees and staff at Frederick Hospital. With COVID-19, you can imagine how busy they are.  Rosalind Hogan, Technical Sales Rep at KRSM, collected donations at our office to give a couple of boxes filled with phone chargers, snacks, gift cards, etc. to the hospital. She then made sure that they got delivered.  Thank you Rosalind for organizing this fundraiser!
