NWIR & AMERICAN RED CROSS HOST BLOOD DRIVE IN TRIADELPHIA, WV

In May, National Women in Roofing teamed up with American Red Cross to host a blood drive at the Highlands Event Center in Triadelphia, WV. Individuals across Ohio County elected to donate, including some of our employees at Kalkreuth and East Coast. The theme for Red Cross’s nationwide blood drive this year was, “Summer Full of Life” as they’re encouraging us to get out and have fun, and help others do the same this summer!

KRSM SPONSORING DODGERS LITTLE LEAGUE

Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal is proud to be one of the sponsors of the Dodgers little league team in the Lexington Southeastern Cal Ripken league. The sponsorship funding goes toward benefitting the team by helping to supply them with equipment, water, and anything else they need to make baseball events a success. In this picture, standing next to his little brother River, is KRSM Estimator Benson Phillips’ son, Sonny, who plays on the Dodgers tee ball team.

WLU & KRSM

On May 4th, West Liberty presidents Dr. W. Franklin Evans, Dr. Jeremy Larance, and Jason Koegler went to Triadelphia, WV to tour our fabrication shop/office building. They spent the majority of the afternoon there. After enjoying lunch, they attended a meeting with Mr. Kalkreuth, John Trifonoff, Josh Wack, and Tiffany Wildern to speak on creating a learning-while-working partnership between KRSM and WLU. They talked while touring the facility about how they can prepare their students for jobs with us and how we can give them real world job experience through internships or co-ops. Although currently there is no news on any programs yet, hopefully in the near future our sheet metal team will have the opportunity to be mentors!

MATTHEW HURLEY SETS NEW RECORD

Matthew Hurley, son of Jim Hurley, President/CEO (KRSM) attends Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, PA and is a member of their track & field team. On Sunday, April 11th, at the Mason Spring Invitational hosted at George Mason Stadium, Matt set a new program-best mark in the 110-meter hurdles to lead the Duquesne men’s track and field team. Finishing the 110-meter hurdles in 14.72 seconds, he demolished Kyle Trinch’s old school record of 14.99 set in 2016. Hurley and his teammate Isaac Elliot were also part of the Dukes’ first-place 4×100-meter relay team along with Ian Thrush and Jahmaine Hatten. They registered a time of 41.42 in the event, which is second best in program history. Congratulations to Matt!

KRSM SPONSORS LOCAL JUNIOR LEAGUE 5K

This year, the Wheeling Feeling Run & Walk benefitting the Junior League of Wheeling was held on April 17th. Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal was happy to be one of the sponsors of this local event held at Oglebay Park. Starting at the Levenson Shelter, the 3.1 mile course took participants through the beautiful greenery of the park. The race was untimed due to socially distanced start times, and some of those who joined in were even able to participate from their own neighborhoods. Walkers and runners were encouraged to time themselves on watches and phones. If you participated in the event, you can use the hashtag #wheelingfeeling5K when you upload pictures of friends and family from race day!

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: TELETECH BUILDING

KRSM recently completed this design-build project on the Teletech Building in Moundsville, WV. Our team worked alongside JD&E Construction Services to install 150 sq. ft of Flat Lock Zinc Diamond Panels and (2) Zinc Column Covers.

Chris Beall and Greigh Richardson did an outstanding job on the installation and even helped fabricate the materials used on this facility. The two were integral throughout the design process with our sheet metal shop and we are grateful for the hard work they put in to make this project a success!
