MBAYC TOPGOLF EVENT


Last month, the Master Builder Association Young Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania hosted a Topgolf networking event.

In attendance from Kalkreuth was Josh Wack (Wheeling), Travis Snyder (Wheeling), Keith Hillberry (Pittsburgh), and Joe Congie (Pittsburgh).

The event was well attended by young professionals from a variety of industries in the contracting vertical.

EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION LUNCH


Last month, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal’s (KRSM) residential and service teams gathered together for their annual Employee Appreciation Lunch at the Residential Showroom at the Highlands in Triadelphia, WV.

9/11 MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB


On Sunday, September 8, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal Business Development Manager, Mike Hammond, participated in the Columbus 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb to honor and remember America’s fallen firefighters.

Mike joined dozens of participants in support of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and climbed 110 stories to simulate what first responders had to endure on that tragic day 18 years ago.

ON-THE-JOB SAFETY REWARDS


In August, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal’s crew at the Atria project in Richmond, Virginia received a surprise inspection from Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) Safety Compliance Division, and they passed with flying colors.

Another jobsite at the FBI Central Records Complex in Winchester, Virginia was hit by a surprise OSHA inspection, which they also passed.

Each crew received gift cards and lunch as a reward for their dedication to safety. Great job everyone!

CHARITY GOLF OUTING


On Monday, September 9, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal Sales Manager, Dan Tennant, and Ohio Division VP, Pat Hurley, participated in the Gilbane Central Ohio Charity Golf Tournament alongside Jon Dawson and John Lambert with Gilbane Building Company.

This event benefits charities like Ronald McDonald House, YMCA, and Columbus Schools. “KRSM has always been passionate about supporting charity,” said Dan. “We were happy to be involved, and a round of golf is always a great networking opportunity.”

1ST ANNUAL BOMA BLAST


On Thursday, September 12, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal Business Development Manager, Mike Hammond, participated in the 1st Annual Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Blast sport clay shooting event at the Black Wing Shooting Center in Delaware, Ohio.

This event benefited the United Service Organizations (USO) of Ohio, which is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation.

“The USO is close to my heart because of my involvement in the military,” said Mike. “It was a great networking event supporting a worthy cause.”

2019 CAREER FAIR SEASON HAS BEGUN!


Last month, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal representatives attended more than a dozen career fairs spanning West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Virginia with an additional 10 career fairs scheduled for the month of October.

“Our Co-op/Internship program has been a long-standing recruiting resource, and it has cultivated numerous long-term employees over the past 25 years,” said Director of HR & Safety, Seth Abraham. “The company’s first-ever intern was David Hesse, who began his term as an intern back in 1994 and is now the Maryland Division VP.”

CONTINUING EDUCATION


We are proud to announce that one of Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal’s WV-based estimators, Eric Haverty, recently completed the Water Entry Prevention and Moisture Control in Buildings course through the University of Wisconsin Madison’s College of Engineering and Engineering Professional Development.

“It’s great to see our team members take an active role in developing their craft,” said VP of Estimating Chad McLeish. “We’re proud of Eric’s hard work.”
