GONE FISHING…

JUNE 2019 – Roofing and Exterior Products Services (REPS) of Ohio President Bill Spencer and Roofing Sales Manager Duane Zitkovic invited Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (KRSM) Project Manager Paul Novak, Superintendent Herschel Morrison, Superintendent Brian Covington, and East Coast Metal Systems (ECMS) Sheet Metal Division Manager Ed Gavorcik to a fishing trip on Lake Erie.

The fishing trip was a way for the three companies to network and build better and stronger relationships with each other away from the office. The group was even able to catch their full limit of fish!

Thanks again to Bill and Duane for inviting us to a day out on the lake!

FALL PROTECTION DEMO

JUNE 2019 – Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (KRSM) held its quarterly safety meetings mandatory for field employees across all locations.

This quarter, the KRSM team focused on fall protection. KRSM Safety Manager Jeremy Dvorcek and Director of HR and Safety Seth Abraham discussed the importance of fall protection rules and regulations on both the federal and company levels. Employees were then given a live demonstration by FallTech about various fall protection equipment and how to use it.

“Time after time, we stress the importance of safety and fall protection, but we have to make sure our employees—new and existing—fully understand when and how to use it so that they do use it properly,” said Jeremy. “You can never be too safe, and we will continue to keep safety our number one priority!”

28 YEARS ON THE TEAM

JUNE 2019 – Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (KRSM) Vice President of Maryland David Hesse celebrated being part of the KRSM team for 28 years!

David is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering. He began working for KRSM in 1991 as an intern, then transitioned through both the sales and estimating departments before assuming his current role in 1997.

Dave is also currently serving on the National Roofing Contractors Association Board of Directors and is an active board member for the Frederick Affiliate Chapter of the ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Mentor Program.

“David has contributed so much to the company throughout his many years with us,” said Chairman John Kalkreuth. “He began just 7 years after the company opened and has helped it grow into what it has become today. I’m excited to have David on the team, and I can’t wait to see where he leads the company in the future.”

KALKREUTH CHARITY GOLF EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 25-28

MAY 2019 – The Annual Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (KRSM) Charity Golf Events benefitting Easter Seals are right around the corner! KRSM’s official public charity organization, Kalkreuth Roofing Charities, was officially formed last year as a way to streamline the company’s philanthropic efforts. We are proud to make this an official Kalkreuth Roofing Charities Golf Event!

This year, the Kalkreuth Vendor Invitational (KVI) will kick off with an exclusive vendor dinner and Easter Seals check presentation on Thursday, July 25, with the KVI golf scramble to follow on Friday, July 26.

The Kalkreuth Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) tournament will follow on July 27 and 28 on the Robert Trent Jones and Arnold Palmer golf courses at Oglebay Resort’s Speidel Golf Club in Wheeling, West Virginia. The KAGC is open to the public, and you can register at www.OglebayGolf.co/KAGC and pay online.

The KAGC serves as a long-standing tradition in the Ohio Valley and is the premier amateur golf tournament in the tri-state area hosting nearly 300 golfers each year. This tournament generates the support of many of KRSM’s valued vendor partners from across the country.

A portion of the proceeds from these events contributes to an annual donation to the local chapter of Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. Their work is to create solutions that change the lives of children and adults with disabilities and their families. Over the last seven years, KRSM has been able to donate over $90,000 to Easter Seals, and we look forward to watching that number continue to grow in the years to come.

KRSM was proud to be a Gold Sponsor for the walk. The event helps raise money to expand programs and educate medical professionals to make sure that moms and babies get the best possible care, advocated for policies that prioritize their health, fund research to find solutions to the biggest health threats, and support moms through every stage of the pregnancy journey, even when everything doesn’t go according to plan.
