DEBBIE GREEN MEMORIAL 5K RECAP

AUGUST 2018 – Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (KRSM) served as Title Sponsor and entered a team for the 21st Annual Debbie Green Memorial 5K Run/Walk for Leukemia in Wheeling, West Virginia.

For the fourth consecutive year, KRSM had the largest team with 94 employees, family, and friends registered for the team challenge. “This is such a wonderful community involvement and wellness initiative,” said KRSM President and CEO John Kalkreuth. “Our employees recognize that and look forward to it every year; we have never had a team of less than 50 people.”

The event commemorates Debbie Green, who lost her battle with Leukemia in 1972. Her legacy lives on through the emotional and financial support this event offers to other local families who are battling childhood cancer. Throughout the years, this event has helped over 40 children and raised over a million dollars. We are thankful for Race Director Ron Green for organizing another great event in memory of his sister.

This year, the race benefitted Mara Keenan (age 5) and James Baljak (age 5) who are suffering from Leukemia. Thank you to everyone who participated in and supported this year’s event.
