MAY 13, 2016 — Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal’s (KRSM) Maryland division held their first in-house apprentice training session in their shop. This training involved the layout and fastening of tapered insulation and will continue on a regular basis with various topics covered during each training session.
The day started with a 15-minute instructional PowerPoint presentation. Then, the apprentices spent about three hours practicing hands-on, and the day wrapped up with a quiz and evaluation.
“The evaluations were positive, and the training was very well received,” noted Project Manager Phil Conroy. “All of the guys are optimistic about the next training in June when we will cover bonding adhesive to TPO membrane.”
