April 2017 – One of Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal’s (KRSM) Ohio crews working on the Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC) project was recognized for the second time by General Contractor (GC) Corna Kokosing for their outstanding safety efforts.

The crew who received certificates from the GC for their efforts included (pictured L to R) Kenny Norman, Adam Whitaker, and Mike Richard. The crew was also awarded by KRSM with gift cards and lunch.

The GCCC crew was also featured in the November 2016 newsletter issue for “using innovative techniques and doing it safely,” as noted by a Corna Kokosing representative. In addition to Kenny, Adam, and Mike, that crew also included John Chaney, Eric Jacobs, and James Hayman.

“This is a large project with a large scope of work,” said Project Manager Chris Lemmon. “I’m proud to see the crew taking safety initiatives seriously while also upholding project schedules and KRSM quality standards. These guys established and continuously promoted a safe work environment and was rewarded for their efforts.”

The scope on this project includes single skin metal panels, composite panels, flush panels, louver blades, and bird screens.

“These guys are projecting the image that the KRSM standard strives to uphold,” added Western Territory Safety Manager Kevin Barnhart. “We want to be held to a higher standard for safety, and we need the full cooperation of each and every employee in order to make that goal a reality. At the end of the day, we just want everyone to go home safely.”

We sincerely appreciate Chris and his crew for their dedicated safety efforts, and we look forward to seeing more crews recognized for safety compliance company-wide.
