MEET THE TEAM – RICKA JACKSON

JULY 2018 – Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (KRSM) Service Dispatcher Ricka Jackson, located in our Lexington, Kentucky office, was chosen as this month’s featured employee.

Ricka first started working for KRSM in 2012 through a temp agency. After completing 90 days with the company, she was offered a full time position, gladly accepted, and is still in the same position today.

On a day to day basis, Ricka dispatches our 11 technicians to a variety of different service jobs letting them know where to go and what they will be doing. She also deals directly with customers and is often marked as their main point of contact. In addition, Ricka does a lot of behind-the-scene work including completing work orders, managing Dataforma and reports, PMAs, and sometimes even job scheduling. “Nothing is ever the same, and something new is always happening,” said Ricka. “There is always a moment of chaos, but being proactive and planning ahead helps out. Plus, I love constantly having something to do!”

One of the largest and most recent projects that Ricka has been involved with is the Summit at Fritz Farm in Lexington, Kentucky. Once the project was complete, the project manager handed it off to service to complete tenant fit-outs. After completion, there was almost a year of back and forth paperwork and maintenance calls. Ricka adapted quickly and learned to hit the ground running, be independent, self motivated, and figure stuff out on her own. “There will always be someone to help you out along the way, but because everyone is so busy, it helps to just jump right in,” Ricka added.

Overall, Ricka is very thankful for the opportunity to work for such a “down-to-earth” company. “Even though KRSM is a larger company, it still feels like a family-owned business,” said Ricka. “I have grown so much since I have been with KRSM, and I have learned a lot. Most importantly, I am beyond grateful and appreciative of all my co-workers.”

“Ricka is such a hard worker. She handles customers very well, keeps everything in order, and is always so upbeat and never in a bad mood no matter what. We would be totally lost without her,” said KRSM Service Manager Steve Mitchell.
