Project Description

When the Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal team was selected to complete roofing improvements for the Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant Administration Building, the project required precision planning, durable materials, and seamless coordination within an active municipal facility. The scope involved installing 54 squares of TPO roofing, a built-up roofing (BUR) system, Tremco modified bitumen with gravel surfacing, 420 linear feet of coping, and 2,520 square feet of wood blocking.

Because the Administration Building supports critical plant operations, maintaining uninterrupted daily functions was essential. Kalkreuth developed a phased installation plan that minimized disruptions to staff while ensuring safe access and material staging. The roofing systems were carefully integrated to address varying roof sections and performance requirements.

The 54-square TPO system provided a highly reflective, energy-efficient solution designed to withstand UV exposure and fluctuating temperatures. In designated areas, a traditional BUR assembly added redundancy and long-term waterproofing performance. For enhanced durability and impact resistance, Tremco modified bitumen with gravel surfacing was installed, offering superior membrane protection and extended service life.

To reinforce roof perimeters and ensure structural stability, 2,520 square feet of wood blocking were installed to properly anchor flashings and edge details. Additionally, 420 linear feet of coping were fabricated and secured to deliver a watertight, wind-resistant edge condition that complements the building’s overall durability.

Through expert craftsmanship, attention to detail, and strict safety adherence, Kalkreuth delivered a roofing system tailored to the facility’s operational demands. The completed project enhances long-term protection, improves energy performance, and reinforces the Administration Building’s ability to support critical wastewater treatment services for the community.
