Friday, December 16th, was National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day! In light of the national day and to spread Christmas cheer, Kalkreuth hosted an Ugly Sweater Competition through all divisions. We had a tie for first place between Kim Metz and D.J. Hores!
Thank you to our corporate headquarters, East Coast, Residential, and the warehouse for gathering these presents for the children of Catholic Charities West Virginia, St. John’s Home, and Marshall County Girl Scouts. Every child deserves to open a gift during the holidays, and we are happy to make that happen for our community’s children.
Ernie Giancola has been promoted from Operations Manager to Maryland Division Manager. Ernie’s field expertise, technical knowledge, and familiarity with our entire organization will allow him to lead the Maryland Division to new growth and success over the coming years.
Senior Project Manager Nick Hurley has been promoted to Operations Manager. Nick’s hard work, attention to detail, and leadership have made him an asset to the Maryland team and the whole company. He will continue to elevate our existing project management team.
The 2022 Kalkreuth Christmas Party was a fantastic and fun-filled night! This year the party was held on December 3rd at Oglebay’s Pine Room. Thank you to everyone who brought donations for The Salvation Army and the Marshall County Animal Shelter. In case you didn’t hear, Ernie Giancola and his wife Anna adopted Alex (one of the dogs who made an appearance at the party) the next day! Also, congratulations to our newest member of the 30-Year Club, Dave Hesse, Executive VP!
Thank you, each and every one of you, for taking time out of your schedules and attending this year’s party! We missed those unable to attend and hope to see you next year!
This month’s featured foreman is Jeremy Sacunas with Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal’s Pittsburgh division.
Jeremy began working for KRSM in June of 2019, and his first project was Gateway Towers in Pittsburgh, PA, with Project Manager Keith Hillberry. Jeremy is currently working at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center in Oakland, PA. He also noted that his latest project went smoothly, and the crew worked well together. Jeremy has 20 years of experience in the roofing and sheet metal industry and has worked on several projects during his time with Kalkreuth. He noted a few of his most memorable projects, including the Monongahela Incline and the Pittsburgh Air Reserve Station. “I enjoyed working on the Mon Incline because the view was amazing, and it was cool to work on an important piece of our city’s history,” said Jeremy.
Jeremy lives in Bethel Park, PA, with his wife of 5 years, Tess, and his three kids, Jeremy Jr. (18), Myles (15), and Lyla (1). Sadly, his two beautiful black labs, Angus and Lanie, were put to rest this year. “I’m grateful to work for a well-managed company that values its employees and enables me to provide for my family,” Jeremy said.
We are proud to have Jeremy as a member of the Kalkreuth family and appreciate his continuous hard work and dedication since 2019.
Throughout November, KRSM participated in the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Annual Food Drive! The collected non-perishable food items were distributed to local non-profits such as Laughlin Chapel, Catholic Charities, YWCA, and more. Thank you for helping your neighbors!
We are honored for our Residential division to be again voted the #1 Roofing company in the Ohio Valley at The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register Readers Choice Awards!
Jenna Cooper, Sarah Scrudders, and Josh Wack accepted the award on behalf of the division.
Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal was founded on November 13th, 1984, by two men with a dream. John and Jim took a leap of faith when starting this business, but it turned out to be the best decision they’ve ever made! They have been dedicated to a vision of hard work, good people, and unwavering commitment. The last 38 years have been full of ups and downs, but we’ve made it to 2022, standing more robust than ever.
On Friday, November 11th, each division celebrated the founding day with various food items. We are grateful to everyone who is and was part of this noble company. Your dedication and hard work are admirable. Companies dream of hiring team members like you. Thank you for inspiring us every day! We hope everyone had a wonderful KRSM Day!
