OCTOBER 2016 — Alirio Tejada with Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal’s (KRSM) Maryland division is this month’s featured sheet metal foreman.
Alirio began working for KRSM in 2005 as a sheet metal apprentice working directly under foremen, and his first project was the Remote Truck Delivery Station at Fort Detrick with Operations Manager Ernie Giancola. He is now a sheet metal foreman and is currently working on the Frederick Memorial Hospital addition composite panels with Project Manager (PM) Phil Conroy.
Alirio has a total of 20 years experience in the roofing and sheet metal industry and has worked on numerous high-profile projects during his career with Kalkreuth. One of his most memorable projects to date was the Joint Medical Logistics Center at Fort Detrick.
“Alirio is a hard-working, safety conscious, quality oriented foreman,” said PM Phil Conroy, who works with Alirio frequently. “A perfect example of his skills is the Frederick Memorial Hospital where he completed the composite panel scope of work. Gilbane (the General Contractor) said they would use him on any project moving forward because of the way he works and the quality product we provided to the owner.”
“I make sure to choose the right safety equipment for the job, inspect the equipment, and make sure it’s used for its intended purpose—that’s the first part of the job,” Alirio said. “Doing all of this allows me to do the second part of the job—metal installation—safely and productively.”
Alirio currently lives in Laurel, Maryland with his wife Angelina and his three children, Jovani (17), Marvin (15), and Maryjey (13).
We are honored to have Alirio as a member of the Kalkreuth family and appreciate his continuous hard work and dedication since he began in 2005.
