June 2017 – We would like to congratulate one of our own for his recent success in the Kalkreuth Amateur Golf Classic on June 10 & 11 here in Wheeling. Jacob Nickell, son of KRSM CFO Wes Nickell, is a 17-year-old senior at Wheeling Park High School (WPHS) and won the two-day tournament by 4 strokes! Jacob has been playing in the Kalkreuth Amateur Golf Classic for a couple years now. “It feels really great to win a tournament like this because some great players have won it,” said Nickell. “I am proud of myself.”
Jacob is a member of the golf team at WPHS and also plays in many tournaments through the West Virginia Golf Association. He also plans to play golf in college.
