JULY 2018 – Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (KRSM) held its annual amateur golf tournament on the Arnold Palmer and Robert Trent Jones, Jr golf courses at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia on July 14 and 15. The Kalkreuth Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) Benefitting Easter Seals is a premier tournament in the tri-state area and hosted almost 240 golfers from more than 10 states this year. Due to continued growth and increased sponsor involvement, KRSM took over what was previously known as the Stoney Hollow Tire Amateur Golf Championship for the 2018 tournament, which is a continuation of a tournament spanning nearly five decades.

In addition to the weekend amateur tournament, KRSM hosted the 4th Annual Kalkreuth Vendor Invitational (KVI) on Friday, July 13 as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to nearly 50 vendor partners who sponsored the Kalkreuth Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC). This event also took place on the Palmer and Jones courses and was preceded by a welcome dinner on July 12 where the initial check presentation to Easter Seals took place with our two Co-Title Sponsors, ABC Supply and Johns Manville. With additional vendor donations on the day of the KVI, the total contributions increased by more than $6,000.

Proceeds from these golf events contribute to the annual donation to Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center in Wheeling. Their work is to create solutions that change the lives of children and adults with disabilities, or other special needs, and their families. “We are thankful for the continued support from our golf events, which ultimately gives us the opportunity to provide a donation that continues to grow each year,” said KRSM President and CEO John Kalkreuth. With an overwhelming amount of generosity and continued support, KRSM was able to donate a total of $31,590 for 2018. KRSM has donated over $90,000 to Easter Seals over the last 7 years.

Stemming from the continued success of these golf events, 2018 also marked the creation of a nonprofit charitable organization called Kalkreuth Charities which will help KRSM streamline all community involvement and philanthropic efforts company-wide.

KRSM is sincerely grateful for everyone’s involvement in this year’s events.
