July 2017 – July 11th through the 15th, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (KRSM) President and CEO, John Kalkreuth, and KRSM Maryland Division Vice President, Dave Hesse, attended the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) mid-year conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago, Illinois.
The NRCA is one of the leading associations in the roofing industry consisting of 40 board members and approximately 4,000 roofing contractors. The mid-year conference plays an important role in the roofing industry and consisted of the executive committee, board of directors, and task forces where they met as a group to go through important events and issues happening within the industry. During the conference, attendees split into groups to discuss government issues and OSHA regulations and worked through existing technical issues and current events. Together, they discussed ways to enhance the current work-force and where to find more skilled workers. Some of the main focuses of the meeting consisted of consumer out-reach, global strategy, health and safety, risk management, work force solutions and many more important topics.
Overall, the mid-year conference helped prepare the NRCA for its 2017-2018 fiscal year and was a great opportunity to not only learn new information that will help further the industry, but also provided a chance to network and build relationships with other contractors across the country.
Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal is proud to be able to work alongside such a great association to gain knowledge, education and experience that will help further roofing contractors across the country.
