Frick Environmental Center
The Frick Environmental Center is a welcoming facility, an educational hub, and a gateway to Frick Park, offering free access to all who wish to partake. This state-of-the-art establishment enriches its visitors’ experience and sparks learners’ curiosity. All are invited to explore one of Pittsburgh’s most expansive parks and engage in hands-on environmental education. The Center also serves as the classroom base for programming that reaches into the surrounding park woodlands, streams, meadows, and trails.

Project Description
The Frick Environmental Center is a certified Living Building – attaining a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum status – making it a proud collaborative effort between the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and the City of Pittsburgh. To achieve its designation as a Living Building, the Center follows seven categories – ‘petals’ – throughout its design and concept.
